Chen Winkler
Chen Winkler, sculptor, painter, photographer, writer, creator and inventor. Ninth generation in Israel, Col. in res., Zionist. His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and around the world and are placed in museums, public gardens and buildings as well as dozens of environmental monuments and sculptures.
Chen's professional knowledge was acquired over years, Chen grew up working and creating in the marble factory that produces tombstones which has been owned by his family for three generations.
In his own sculptures there is an expression of the technical sense and the use of working methods, advanced technologies in the variety of raw materials: stones, iron, glass and more.
Chen creates outdoor sculptures, monuments , sculptures for the home as well as reliefs in marble and stone. In his works, Chen translates a visual line of figures into flowing, dynamic and harmonious forms characterized by touching the limits of minimalism. The reduction of details and color, combined with curves in flat formats, create codes identified in his works.
In Chen's sculptures, there is a feeling that the sculptors know how to recreate themselves, to create a different living space, analogous to the movement of man in his environment. A person who is not bound by conventions, is not afraid to touch different materials and is not limited to certain performance methods and techniques. In 2019, Chen Winkler initiated the art exhibition "Reserves: A Travel Diary", an exhibition in recognition of the reserve system.
Three weeks of cultural, content and leisure events that engage and make the reserve system accessible to the general public.
In 2020, Chen created a collection of jewelry in his personal and unique design, designed and sculpted, combining stones from the Land of Israel or stones from the breastplate stones and goldsmithing in silver and gold. The jewelry is displayed in the art gallery of Chen on Shaked Promenade in Netanya.
In 2021 Chen was elected chairman of the Netanya Artisans Union.
In 2022, together with his son, Ashad Winkler, Winkler held the exhibition "Purple Stone" - an exhibition that for the first time presents sculpture in crystals and was visited by over 30,000 people.
In 2023, Winkler held a solo exhibition "Flying with the Crystals" at the opening of his new gallery in the Jaffa Port, Tel Aviv.
Winkler is a certified yoga teacher and has completed studies in healing and crystal therapy.
